Home and Living

Short Term Accommodation in Darwin.

Planned short stays that give you a change of scene and give families and carers a real, guilt-free break.

What it is, in plain English.

Short Term Accommodation — STA — is an NDIS support that funds a short stay away from your usual home, including the support you need while you are there. Many people know it as respite.

At EPNT, stays happen in our welcoming homes across the Darwin region. You get a change of scene, activities and outings you choose, and support with daily needs — while families and carers get a proper break.

Who it may suit

  • You or your family need a proper recharge.
  • You want to try new things, meet new people or practise living more independently.
  • Your usual support arrangements are changing and you need somewhere welcoming for a short time.
  • You're thinking about SIL one day and want to try supported living first.

What EPNT can provide.

  • comfortable stays in our welcoming homes
  • activities and outings you choose
  • support with daily needs while you're with us
  • flexible lengths — a weekend to a few weeks

What's not included — or depends on your plan

  • How long and how often you can stay depends on what STA funding is in your NDIS plan.
  • STA covers your stay and the disability support you need during it — everyday extras like personal shopping money are yours.
  • STA is time-limited by nature. If you need somewhere to live for longer, talk with us about Medium Term Accommodation or SIL.

Where it operates

STA stays happen in EPNT homes in Lyons, Nakara, Muirhead and Palmerston — comfortable, welcoming homes in established Darwin neighbourhoods.

How to get started.

The same simple, no-pressure process — for participants, families and professionals making a referral.

  1. Talk with us

Call 0431 044 443 or send the secure enquiry form. We listen first, answer your questions in plain English, and there is no pressure to decide anything.

  2. Meet and plan together

We get to know you — and the people you choose to involve — and talk about what you'd like support to look like. We also check what your NDIS plan can cover, so there are no surprises.

  3. Start at your pace

If we're the right fit, we agree on a start date and a support arrangement together — and we keep reviewing it with you as your life changes.
